(Astigan) — A team of Iraqi archaeologists have unearthed about 4000 artifacts dating back to Babylonian times. The findings include royal seals, talismans and clay tablets bearing Sumerian cuneiform inscriptions.
According to the Iraqi Tourism and Antiquities Ministry, the artifacts were discovered after two years of fieldwork in 20 different sites between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. This region was known to the ancient Greeks by the name of ‘Mesopotamia’. Among the discoveries, a series of ancient Persian and medieval Islamic artifacts have also been unearthed.
Archaeologists said that these artifacts are of priceless value and very significant. Two talismans have been unearthed from which one bears a carved face in Sumerian style accompanied by a triangle. The other talisman has a running antelope carved into it, Reuters reports.
A number of clay tablets bearing Sumerian cuneiform inscriptions have also been found. Cuneiform is the oldest known form of writing, dating back 5,000 years. The writing originated in southern Mesopotamia and was created in the Sumerian culture and to write the Sumerian language. Later, however, it was used for Akkadian, Babylonian and Assyrian as well. The cuneiform script was deciphered in mid 19th century.
The discovered treasure was sent to the National Museum in Baghdad for storage and research. The Museum lost approximately 15,000 artifacts since the beginning of the war, from which only 6000 have been recovered. The head of the antiquities and heritage committee, Qais Hussein Rasheed, said that the danger of looters still represents a major problem in the country.
“These sites are vulnerable to endless robbery by thieves, smugglers and organized gangs because they are not protected,” he said. “We have asked the relevant ministries to allocate policemen but haven’t received very many so far,” Rasheed told reporters.
Amid decrease in violence, the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities hopes that more tourists will visit the country’s historical sites. Tourists can visit some of the world’s most popular and important archaeological sites including the Biblical city of Babylon, the Assyrian city of Nineveh, and various Islamic citadels and Shiite mosques.

Well the nut-jobs are on parade. If it wasn’t enough that Numya thinks that the “truth” is being hidden, but “bob” thinks American troops are raping women and stealing antiquities.
What a sad state when we had hoped that the internet would be a tool for enlightenment. Unfortunately ignorance and evil are more powerful than truth and light.
I’m sure it is a waste of time to point out to Numya that there is no secret agenda to hide our “true” history. History, like all areas of study is open to interpretation, so there is no real “truth”, only academics who wish to protect their tenure.
As for “bob’, that type of evil and ignorance is beyond any form of reason. Iraqi museums were looted by their own people, and Americans rescued the Iraqi women from the rape gangs.

i am wishing to learn why, on alot of things. i have ben there and done that tshirts arent gonna count in this discussion. i was in the ao (area of operation) when alot of things were “discovered” and cordoned off from the regular troops. i wish i could say that everything was done according to sop. but there are some things that most people dont know, or should i say ” choose not to delve into”.

There is more happening in the world than most people know. The middle east was one of the cradles of civilization’s. With that said, there is a great deal of information there, or at least had been. The truth can not be hidden for long as , long as their are people around to bring it forth. The truth can only be denied for so long before it sinks in one way or the other. If your head is stuck in the sand then it will be a more painful revelation for you. Revelation is coming, and lot’s of people are going to be put off by what comes down. They detail what was really in the indian mounds there. The scientists that did the digging into the mounds lied about what they found. Read the actual county records. Nunya is right! Nunya is an example of why we should have left Iraq alone. After all the Americans that died liberating Iraq, we still face their hatred. Iraqis cannot wait until the evil Americans leave. Then, like the Taliban they can destroy any part of history that does not fit with what they choose to believe. We were wrong…we should have left them to struggle in the oppression, starve while their officials stole their food, and turned a blind eye while their women were raped and murdered. We should have closed our minds, borders and pocketbooks to their suffering, refugees and oil. America never asks for anything in return, in recent Wars we even bring our dead home for burial instead of leaving them in the Flanders Field’s of Europe.

Archeological finds are the treasures of the world, not of a group of small minded politicians trying to turn it to their advantage. At least what was taken out of other countries a century ago by British and American scholars is on display for the masses to see and learn from, not hidden away because it is politically incorrect.
How sad ! These beautiful treasures will probably never see the light of day for the world to appreciate !

I’m TOTALLY stunned to read such nonsense in a place of self education! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, without being insulted by a bunch of no-it-alls (charles sifers), that CAN’T possibly know any more than what they hear on the radio, watch on TV, read in a newspaper or gather from the “nets” (as George Bush calls it). You can expose yourself to such media outlets all day, everyday, but, that doesn’t make you ‘well informed’. ‘Real American’ doesn’t believe everything she/he hears, and isn’t afraid to express his/her ‘opinion’. Ok, well lets just bring it out then. There are flying saucers, Iv’e seen them, some of you have seen them. They could be aliens or they could be super secret aircraft but either way the US govt denys that they exist. You know as well as I do that these would be considered a national threat, right? Although I don’t know what the truth is, I sure can identify a lie, and that makes me angry. Who’s right is it to decide that I do not have a right to know the truth? Who is so arrogant that they have decided already that the rest of the nation-it’s citizens don’t need to know?
I dont care how many of you “claim” to know something. You won’t say it so you are either a liar too, or just too chicken to disclose what you know. Either way it makes you an ineffectual nothing. Somebody prove the truth to me and I would be willing to champion that truth in the media, to the govt, I don’t care.
The bottom line is that you can spout all of the intellectual musings and folklore you want it makes no difference until somebody discloses the truth about things. And when disclosure comes I offer NO mercy to the people who have been involved in hiding the truth.
So lets make this clear in case you still don’t get it.
There are things being hidden from the public, the people hiding these truths are of average intellect and incapable of figuring out this “meaning of life” stuff on their own, but they are certainly not giving anyone else a chance at all-whether it be fear or hopes of control does not matter to me. The bottom line is that every person that does not speak out because of fear is a COWARD, And every person involved in covering up the truth is a LIAR. And these people should be punnished. (and if the gravity of the truth warrants it maybe they should even be killed for crimes vs humanity!) That remains to be seen.
So instead of spewing forth more garbage about how you “know” this or that, come up with some proof. Give the proof to me, I know what to do with it, and I will not be intimidated into silence.
Just remember that if the world is upset by a major disaster or something even more terrible-the people in charge right now will not be in charge once it all goes down. That will be our chance to not only reform our governments into something more respectible, but to deal with the banking industry once and for all and protect ourselves from sensless greed and inflation in the future.
I look forward to a big upset-I look forward to disclosure of the truth as well! I hope I am still alive when it all comes out.

I am a Sitchin fan & i do believe one of the reasons for the war over there was to get Info on the origins of man. The US government knows more & does more then most people think. I have seen pictures of Army personnel standing on ancient zigurats in Iraq & also they had their base camp on the road that runs through ancient Babylon. On that road is where the gods held a festival every year. Gods that came from the stars & returned there walked that road. If you want to see the army in Babylon go to Photobucket & look up Zigurats & you will see them walking on ancient Holy ground with no care for its ancient history… Most likely we will never know the truth because the rich like to free their selves & keep the rest of us fearful & tax paying to support them.

I have seen ufos on three seperate occasions…I believe the smithsonian is behind cover-ups in the grand canyon, death valley and countless mound builder cultures possibly in their disclosure of giants. I have reason to believe the apollo program was chased off the moon. but how to prove ones’ beliefs or what you see with your own eyes is another matter entirely.

Well, I will neither confirm nor deny anything outside of my realm of experience. The bottom line for me is simple-Ive seen some things and I know the US govt is lying about it. I also have suspected that there were “other motives” to go into Iraq, but again I cannot subscribe to every conspiracy theory out there.

As far as the Smithsonian angle-Why would a private institution that would have a great deal of money to be made on this subject cover it up? there is only one answer(if it is true) and that is that they were made to cover it up.
Ok, now about giants. The bible says they were here. other historical documents also say they were here, and we have found numerous giant skeltons. Let me point out that giants were said to be the offspring of humans and gods. (ever seen a Liger? it is a hybrid cat that is lacking the growth inhibitor gene or some such.) It could just be that one of the side effects of interbreeding close species causes this to happen. The Bible claims that Nephilim (giants) were offspring of angels and humans. either way-it is an offspring of humans and another humaniod species. It reminds me of the Bagdad Battery. I love hearing about ancient peoples because I’m convinced that many were very intelligent peoples, eventhough it may have been thousands of years ago. There’s evidence of this everywhere. They built pyramids in Egypt, they built stone irrigation systems in South America, they built water resourvouirs in what is now Saudi Arabia. I mean people had brains and did what they needed to do, and where way back then. I mean there are underground cities in Turkey from long ago. The earth is full of wonderous mysteries like these. One thing I like to keep pointing out is that if one reads the Bible, the people speaking really had an impressive vocabulary. They spoke very intelligently and it shows very functional and functioning brains in the people being quoted. I mean civil and eloquent and well educated sounding.
So the Romans needed or wanted to build an aquaduct, and built it. The China population wanted or needed to build the Great Wall of China, so built it. In Lebanon there are the massive stones and in Africa there are the tall stone sculptures. Stonehenge. All over the globe, there are wonderous things built, done by wonderous minds and wonderous groups of people. Edward Leedskalnin in Florida, built Coral Castle, all by himself! People needed/wanted a canal, and built the Panama Canal. Well call me crazy but 1969 seems like a long time ago here in 2009. But man wanted to go to the moon, man built ships capeable of going to the moon and mankind walked on the moon and returned to earth around then! Might come a day when we can’t again, but we certainly have done so haven’t we?
So like I can believe in an Atlantis because how do I know that a poor person wasn’t standing on a beach somewhere four thousand years ago, let’s assume that he wished he had a beautiful place to live under the ocean, why not? Well how do I know that this poor person, standing there, didn’t have a brilliant idea and set to work on accomplishing that idea. Maybe he found friends to help him whom weren’t doing anything anyway and were glad to help, and maybe they built an underwater city somehow in the Atlantic or elsewhere. Maybe their descendents are there to this day. I mean if we’re all going to lean toward maybe yes, or maybe no, I’m one who likes to lean toward the maybe yes! I’m an optimist. Ft. Sumter in South Carolina is a man made island. Well certainly this could have been done somewhere, thousands of years before! well the past is certainly full of great mysteries, all the way back, and I like to believe, that the greatest, are yet to come!

It is understood that Saddam Hussein among others was looking to rebuild that tower of Babel. It’s also understood that the violence other divide and conquor tactics are put in place simply to have the mainstream public look away and completely misunderstand what is actually happening. It will take us 40 years to really figure out what happened here at the begining of the 21st century but here are some intersting things i find others didn’t note…
1. The cradle of civilzation is clearly in the Middle East and Africa. The Ancients (A race of beings called “The Ancients”) understood that our form was great at surving on a celestial form (sphere). Among other beings whom Sgt. Clifford Stone and other Majestic 12 sources cliam over 50 forms, The Annunaki are the Nephilim.
2. As we get closer to 2012, it is clear that our purpose in Iraq was simply to try and control events leading closer to 2012. We had developed Looking Glass technology that the Libyans gave to Saddam and the U.S. did not like what was going on. He was essentially rebuilding Babylon to restore it’s powerful knowledge of human history.
3. UNESCO provided the maps for those to go into the right museums and loot however, items founs through archeology only shows the history that most people could only learn if they follow The Mystery School teachings. In other words, how to turn into an actual light being like Jesus and Mary Madalene, The Buddaha, The first int many Zoroasters, Akhenaten…the list goes on. All of the world leaders like Alexander The Great, Napoleon, Thomas Jefferson, FDR, Hitler, and Saddam Hussein all wanted to know these cryptic ancient secrets to Mystery School teachings were. shadtek u r absolutely right i have read n saw many documentories about ancient sumeria the worlds first civilisation wich is now known as iraq developing many technologies almost instantly like the baghdad battery ( and why would they need electricity back then?). If you research on the sumerians you will actually find out that they dont accredit any of the inventions as their own, rather, they say it was their gods who gave it to them and taught them agriculture, farming, science, the most astonishing is that the ancient sumerians KNEW about all the planets, their relative sizes and position the sun and more like the 12th planet that they say the gods came from and it passes every 3600 years in a elliptical orbit. They knew everything and more than we knew today how i ask you they knew about that 6000 years ago?? They developed their culture within a space mere years. They actually built living quarters for their ”gods” and they describe their gods as reptilian-like but humanoid and they used humans to farm for gold which is probably why we hold it as our global value for currency. When our main sources of gold were depleted they say the gods left to reutrn again on the next passing. Actually if all the oil and Filth Coal ran out tomorrow on Planet Earth you would see how quickly these Tesla Inventions would be released from the vaults in which they have been hidden at the behest of the wicked Coal and Oil Barons way back in 1902.
Had the Nikola Inventions not been suppressed back in 1902 by the Patent Offices in America we today would have had electrically powered vehicles both on the ground and on the seas and in the air running on free electrical energy which is all around us and which cometh from our Sun and which entereth the North Magnetic Pole of the Earth and exits the South Magnetic Pole of the Earth, thus completing the Electrical Circuit. Why, It is principally the ARMAMENT Manufacturers and their puppets, those few politicians in every country of the World who bow down to these Servants of SATAN who manufacture bombs, mines, tanks, guns submarines and war’ planes and ammunition for them, plus pistols and rifles and poisonous Chemicals and any means for murdering mankind. All the owners of Armament Manufacturing Plants throughout the World should be put into a secure paddock and made to march around until they each step on a purposely-pre- hidden land-mine and be blown to pieces by the very same land mines they sell for monetary gain to other countries with which they wish to further perpetrate wars.
I say…..Curse you Armament Manufacturers, Coal and Oil Barons and much of Industry for continually wrecking our Planet Earth and all its life, may you all rot in HELL for EVERMORE and Suffer Continual Torment for your continuing WICKEDNESS towards the Earth, its people its fauna and flora, its seas, rivers its atmosphere, streams and the very soil which is our garden for fruit vegetables plants trees and flowers….all of these which are gifts from GOD, the Father of All Things, both great and small.

Once again, I pulled up on the computer immages of Summerian carvings in stone that were said to be around six thousand years old. I found it interesting that I saw this Mesopotamian carving or from wherever of this man with wings. He had a beard, a very well tailored beard in the carving. Well this being with wings had something in one hand that sort of reminded me of an electronic device of some sort. In its other hand it looked like some sort of bag with a handle. Well later as I was pulling up more immages of ancient peoples, I was quite surprised to see that in Mexico, there was this carving of this person, with the same device and same bag in his hand. Now this guy did not have wings, but what they were holding in their hands was just about exactly the same.
Well I like to pull up the pictures of the pyramid walls and study what the “gods” depicted on these walls had in their hands. One thing is the “Ankh.” Well I wonder if that couldn’t have been a key to something. A key to some hidden room. A key to some spacecraft. Looks like a key to me!
Maybe Dr. Hawass will find something there in Egypt that nobody knew existed before. Maybe some key will open up some room some day and everyones mouth will drop open to the floor at what they find in there! The past was sure full of very, very interesting people and things. I mean my personal favorite is Edward Leedskalnin.
Now I’m not one who believes the world will end in 2012. Yes, we have done great dammage to the planet so far, but I have more faith in God than that and I believe God built this planet to last! People too! Why don’t we build a stone calendar that goes to 3012 from 2012 just to be optimistic and faithful? Let’s stop all war, atomic testing and personal littering and just see, we might be around for a long long time if we do!
